DEPARTMENT HISTORY

School of Health Technology was established in 1991, including the Department of Medical Information and Management, which was subsequently renamed as Healthcare Information and Management, and added a master's program in 2015.

DEPARTMENT CHARACTERISTICS

The purpose of establishing this department is to actively cultivate talents in medical information management, enhance their application of medical science, and timely focus on cultivating medical management professionals who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The department provides all-round training to equip students with humanistic and technological literacy, macro and forward-looking independent thinking, and logical abilities, making them outstanding administrative management personnel in medical institutions. The curriculum focuses on the application of information technology to medical science and management, emphasizing the integration of medical science and information management, and the application of information technology to enhance medical management performance. In addition to basic management training, the department also cooperates with the industry to provide courses and arranges students to visit and intern at health and medical institutions to enhance their professional skills. The department adopts an inspiring and participatory teaching approach, emphasizing classroom participation and teacher-student interaction to cultivate students' creative thinking and analytical abilities.

We have the following characteristics:

  1. Strengthen students' knowledge of computer software and hardware, and the ability to apply the Internet.
  2. Through internships and project studies, students can demonstrate their ability to use information to develop medical management.
  3. Arrange for on-location study in each hospital to understand the medical management of each one.
  4. Strive for information integration and medical management research projects with various hospitals, and lead students to participate in research.
  5. Establish good relations with major hospitals in Taiwan and provide students with a variety of internship opportunities.
  6. Department faculty use their practical experience in hospitals to provide excellent teaching quality combined with practice.
  7. Attend to the quality of faculty research, and encourage academic publication and participation.
